How to Turn Off Web Services for a Domain

Did you know there is a fast and easy way to park your website in your Hsphere control panel? Simply turn off web services with just a few quick clicks! Domains that have web services turned off will not be billed for hosting services during this time. This way if you have to shut an active site down for a period of time while it gets a design overhaul you may do it without being billed for the time it is inactive!

First login to your control panel.

Then click on the domain you wish to park. This will take you to the edit domain screen.

Scroll down to the Web Service field and click on the "On" button, which indicates that web services are currently activated for this domain.

click here to disable web services

The next screen is just the confirmation screen. Although it says all your data will be lost, it just means that it won't be visible anymore on the internet. Your files will still remain on our server and are accessible via FTP at this point, so you can go ahead and click on "Yes, I agree with the above."

Now at the remove content screen is where you have the option to delete all files associated with your domain name. If you wish to delete everything, check the box. If you wish for everything to stay on our servers, leave it unchecked. Click on the submit button.

Hosting has now been disabled for your domain. You should now see a red "Off" button next to Web Service where it used to be "On". Of course when you are ready to turn hosting back on for you domain just click on this button and proceed throught the following screens. It's amazing how simple Hsphere is to use, ain't it? :)
