Transferring your domain registration to Hostica means your domain's current registrar will be changed to our registrar, OpenSRS/Tucows. In order to transfer a domain registration, the following criteria must be met:

• Domain must be less than 60 days old
• Domain must not be locked by current registrar. If it is locked, you'll need to contact your current registrar to unlock it before submitting the transfer request.
• Domain must not be expired or in redemption.
• The admin contact listed on your domain's whois record must be valid and accessible

1) After submitting the transfer request, OpenSRS (our registrar) will email the administrative contact (see http://www.hostica.com/whois.html), asking to confirm the transfer. If the transfer is not confirmed it will fail. Be sure the admin contact email address listed on your domain's whois record is current and valid before initiating the domain transfer request. Also, be sure to obtain the authorization code for your domain name from your existing registrar, which will be needed to approve the transfer.
2) After confirming, the transfer goes to OpenSRS for approval. This generally takes little time, and is usually done the same day the transfer is confirmed.
3) The transfer goes to your previous registrar for approval. This takes the most time, usually around 7 days.

Once the transfer is complete, OpenSRS will be your registrar, and another year will be added to your registration.
